POSITION: PROGRAM COORDINATOR – DEAFBLIND PROGRAM
CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: COMMUNICATION ACCESS MANAGER
COMPENSATION: $43,000 – $48,000 ANNUALLY, COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS. BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORGANIZATIONAL POLICY.
LOCATION: ST. LOUIS, MO
POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator works closely with both the Communication Access and Community Programs teams to support consistent, high-quality communication access and advocacy for individuals who are DeafBlind.
This position provides general DeafBlind advocacy and consumer support. This position also supports the daily operations of the statewide Missouri DeafBlind Support Service Provider (SSP) Program. Primary responsibilities include coordinating scheduling activities, supporting program administration, maintaining accurate data and records, and assisting with outreach and training logistics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advocacy Support
• Provide basic advocacy support to DeafBlind individuals, including assistance with
communication access needs and navigation of services
• Collaborate with Community Programs staff to ensure alignment in consumer
support efforts
Scheduling & Coordination
• Coordinate and support SSP scheduling needs, including coverage, changes, and
adjustments
• Communicate with SSP providers and consumers regarding scheduling updates
• Follow up on required and outstanding documentation
Program Support & Administration
• Provide general customer support to SSP providers and consumers
• Track and maintain program data (e.g., participation, service utilization, regional
activity)
• Maintain and update program directories and internal systems
• Assist in preparing reports and data for program leadership
• Support the dissemination of program communications, updates, and memos
Training & Logistics
• Assist with coordination of trainings, including scheduling, logistics, and materials
• Support the development and organization of training and program materials
• Review and organize applications and supporting documentations
Outreach & Engagement
• Attend DeafBlind community events, partner meetings, and outreach activities
• Support relationship-building efforts with community members and partner
organizations
• Participate in occasional statewide travel as needed
General Support
• Attend team and program meetings as required
• Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth program operations
• Adapt to evolving program and departmental needs
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (in-person, phone, text, and email)
• Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with DeafBlind individuals
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and general technology platforms
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred
• Experience in scheduling, coordination, or administrative support roles
• Experience working in nonprofit or community-based programs
• Knowledge of DeafBlind culture and communication access practices
Working Conditions
• May require occasional evening or weekend hours
• May require occasional statewide travel
• Hybrid work environment may be available based on program needs
