POSITION: DEAF VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM COORDINATOR
CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: MARKETING DIRECTOR
LOCATION: ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI
SALARY: $18-$22/HR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Deaf Visual Arts Program Coordinator will offer administrative support to the Marketing Director in various aspects of the Deaf Visual Arts programs. This role is dedicated to assisting with program implementation, supporting artists, and enhancing outreach efforts, rather than overseeing the program. This position will work approximately 200 hours annually.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support the coordination of Deaf Visual Arts programs for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Assist with the planning and implementation of workshops, presentations, ASL Tours, classes, and related outreach events.

Provide administrative support for artist selection processes.

Act as a liaison with local venues (museums, convention centers, etc.) and service providers (ASL interpreters, CART, etc.), and contractors (booth rentals, etc.)

Monitor program expenses and work within budget.

Recruit, train, and support docents and volunteers.

Ensure accessibility at all program events.

Work closely with the media team on marketing and outreach efforts, including social media, webpages, and printed materials.

Assess and respond to the needs and desires of the Deaf, hard of hearing and DeafBlind community.

Respond to public inquiries related to the Deaf Visual Arts program.

Develop and maintain positive communication and engaging relationships with community members, artists, and local art communities.

Demonstrate knowledge of the Deaf Community and culture and be fluent in sign language.
Minimum Qualifications

Work Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in organizing, coordinating, or implementing public art programs, cultural arts, or visual arts initiatives.
