Teen Institute is looking for students who want to be prevention advocates. Although this camp emphasizes alcohol and drug abuse prevention, activities and education also promote teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. If you are interested or have a child who is interested in these topics, take a look at the following camper qualifications.
• Either Deaf or hard of hearing OR a sibling or child of someone who is Deaf, hard of hearing, or an ASL interpreter (CODA)
• Between the age of 13-19
• Willing to attend the duration of the camp
• Parental consent to attend
• Trust and respect of his/her peers
Dates of Camp: TBA – in the past, camp is often the 2nd week of June
Location of Camp: TBA – in the past camp has taken place at Missouri School for the Deaf and/or Garrison Camp in Steelville, MO
Cost of Camp: TBA – depends on donations. In the past the cost has been between $75-100.
