DEAF Inc. is dedicated to dissolving communication barriers in the deaf and hard of hearing communities and providing effective communication with the hearing community at large.

We respect the individual’s choice and right to their preferred communication mode and cultural identity. DEAF Inc. uses the term “deaf” to encompass all individuals who consider themselves Deaf, deaf, hard of hearing, hearing impaired, late deafened, deaf-blind, etc.

Communication Development and Clarification Services

DEAF Inc. recognizes and promotes this emerging new industry. We realize interpreters who are deaf have a much more thorough and richer understanding of the deaf community, culture and language, because most hearing interpreters are exposed to deaf culture and the deaf community much later in life. Hearing interpreters can spend the remainder of their career in the deaf community and still never fully comprehend or relate to the deaf culture and language. We endorse and value the Deaf Interpreter as a potentially vital partner of the interpreting team, as they can nearly guarantee 100% effective communication.

Occasionally a person is identified who has very limited or no communication. DEAF Inc. utilizes a team of deaf and hearing interpreters to assist in developing communication. Often the individual utilizes a system of home signs that communication specialists may be able to decode and use as a foundation to developing language.

DEAF Inc. can also provide language specialists to clarify frozen texts, programs, procedures, etc.
